The Modern World

The Cultural Tutor  is popular on X with 1.7m followers and he's now popped up on YouTube. His first video, set in London, questions How Did The World Get So Ugly?, which is something I think about more often than I probably should. 

It’s a really good watch if you’re interested in the history of the modern world, architecture and design. The production quality is also superb, which makes sense given the subject matter and the host’s obsession with the history of design. The Britishness of it all – and the focus on how to look at the world – reminds me of Alan Schaller’s excellent photography channel. Quality, not quantity.

In today’s convenience-based world, we seem to be losing sight of why this is important.
