Is it time to reconsider the prominence of the writing-by-email headline feature of Pagecord? The functionality to compose posts in the app exists, it's just turned off. Maybe it shouldn't be?

Self-hosting your own instance of Pagecord is now fairly straightforward, but setting up and paying for your own inbound email processor makes no financial sense – it's 10x cheaper to buy a Pagecord subscription for $20/yr! With a bit of effort, the app could be configured with Kamal/Docker, SQLite, and Solid-* gems such that someone could deploy it to a cheap (or existing) VPS. A simple console command should be sufficient to configure it.

Of course, it could well be that most people are just not interested in the product regardless of how posts are created! Despite being very basic, I do think it's a platform comparable to Write.as, and it's far cheaper, so maybe growing pains are just a marketing and awareness problem rather than a fundamental product problem?
