I love a good tech docudrama and BlackBerry is (almost) up there with The Social Network, The Playlist and (my fave) Halt and Catch Fire.

Like the portrayal of the founders, the film doesn’t take itself too seriously and is pretty funny at times. I imagine there’s a lot of artistic license going on because surely Jim Balsillie couldn’t have been a complete sociopath like his character suggests?

Despite being massively disrupted by the iPhone, it wasn’t all entirely lost for the company. While they have 0% share of the smartphone market, BlackBerry Ltd (no longer RIM) still has a market cap of nearly $3bn!
