Reading about Demis Hassabis, the Nobel prize winning head of Google’s DeepMind, gives me a little more hope – cautious optimism as he puts it – that some of the AI billions are under good stewardship. Perhaps Hassabis is the person who leads the path towards AI solving some of world’s biggest challenges, not just chatbots.
