Disintegration was a defining album for me during the 1990s. It’s my favourite album of all time. Faultless. 

Today there’s a new single from The Cure, Alone. Their first new material for 16 years. It has that sweeping, epic sadness that cut through Disintegration. Robert Smith may be in his 60s, but he’s lost nothing of his talent for creating music like this. Just wonderful.
