It took me a while to get through it but I loved this book. I used to write computer games in the 90s and it was nothing like the MIT and LA worlds imagined here, which is perhaps why I liked it so much. The escapism of the American dream to a 20 year old from the UK provinces was, still is, a powerful thing.
