After 2 weeks of testing I decided to revoke image attachments for the Pagecord free plan and I feel a lot better about it. I should have run the test for a lot longer for any statistical proof but I can honestly only see downsides – more cost to me, more risk of abuse. I also think it’s a reasonable ask to upgrade to a $20 a YEAR plan to get image attachments, unlimited blogging and email subscriptions support (well, up to 100 subscribers). Most competitors do the same, other than Pika which limits your blog to 50 posts unless you pay $60 a year.
In fact, I’m thinking of increasing the price a little bit soon. I’ll grandfather existing customers of course, but I’m thinking $25 or $30 is a fairer price given this includes sales tax (20%+) and the payment processing fees I incur (5%). Reply by email if you have any thoughts on this!
