I never listened to Bob Dylan. Looking back, when it comes to “guitar music” I always preferred to listen to what’s contemporary. I’ve not ignored “old” stuff, I was just mainly into soul and disco. I liked Neil Young, but I never dug Dylan. Or Bowie, or the Stones or the Beatles for that matter. Shameful? I know the obvious songs of course, but they didn’t really resonate. Plus I really liked synths so…
I saw A Complete Unknown this weekend and I loved it. It’s made me want to (finally) dig into Dylan’s back catalogue. Maybe even dust off the guitar. Timothée Chalamet is brilliant as Dylan (as are the rest of the cast), an uncanny likeness and he has the voice to match.
The cinematography is also excellent - right up my street. If you get a chance, I’d recommend seeing it on the big screen.
